Bali connection

In early November, when the cold begins to numb your bones, we felt the need to escape the Galician Jungle and go to Bali, Indonesia, the mecca of surfing and motorcycle and scooter customization. After almost 30 hours of travel, we finally reached our destination. Already on the road heading to our accommodation, we discovered the authentic chaos and anarchy in the driving of its people. Where, of course, the mandatory use of helmets, insurance, and a minimum driving age do not exist. The first mandatory stop was the Deus ex machina headquarters, "the temple of enthusiasm" in the west of the island, Canggú. A true museum of surfing and customized motorcycles with an extremely exquisite taste. In their temporary exhibition hall, we happened to see the work of Ornamental Conifer, an illustrator deeply involved in the world of two wheels, known for his collaborations with El Solitario MC, BMW, Edwin, among many others. A shape by the Australian Jye Byrnes (6.3 singlefin, pin tail, with channel bottom) accompanied us for the rest of the trip. A board created in communion for the waves of that island. DEUS customizations have created a school and a scene in this sector, seeing different workshops along the roads where they rented or sold their "creations." Another branch of customization previously unknown to us is that of scooters, specifically the Honda Super Cub 90. A tough and reliable motorcycle if ever there was one. Enduring the test of time with those roads and drivers is quite an achievement. The customization craze even reaches electric models, as in some islands near Lombok, it was not permitted to use combustion engines, but this was not an impediment to customizing their electric machines. Regarding the waves, it is an island conceived celestially for surfing; the lines were marked on the horizon from any point on its coast. Although it is now an open secret and therefore it was necessary to wake up earlier than the roosters to be uncrowded in the water. That does not detract from the enjoyment of such perfect waves. Bintang beer and the Nasi Goreng dish are something that if you go, you will consume in tons!!!
