California dreamin'

California Dream, the American dream exists! As Mamas & the Papas once sang. Everything one can dream of, in the westernmost state of the USA, comes true or at least appears to. Perfect skateparks, zipper-like waves, powerful cars, joyfully modified motorcycles without the inquisition of a Spanish MOT, beautiful and athletic women, BBQs, hamburgers, sun, warmth, palm trees, etc… Everything looks very beautiful, and indeed it is, until you cross the threshold of its facade and land in reality with fringed Harley riders and fuel-injected engines, days and weeks of "flatness" with no waves, surgically enhanced women, high-calorie and unhealthy food, no sun or warmth if you reach San Francisco, with a climate closer to Finisterre than Malibu. Everything has its counterpoint, but that doesn't stop it from being a place of admiration, both for the various sports we owe them and for their fast-combustion culture, with high-displacement engines and a beautiful repeated V-shape. We haven't had the opportunity to delight ourselves with the number of good motorcycle builders in that area or with the world-renowned waves, with the exception of Malibu (10+), but we did enjoy good landscapes in deserts and natural parks worthy of any good Western, as well as characters in those places in true "redneck" style. A great discovery was finding the Cretins MC, a motorcycle club, "A club of misfits of the motorcycle world." Coincidentally, we were able to access and visit the workshop of one of its members. After more than 3000 miles and 3 states traveled, here are some photographs that illustrate our personal California dream.
