At Mondaka skatepark, production never stops; a few weeks ago, they just premiered their new extension. It consists of a curved quarter pipe with "pool coping" (courtesy of dogbowl), a hip, and a nipple without quince attached to the existing "spine."
This DIY (do it yourself) located in the Mondaría Balneario area would not exist if it weren't for the tremendous effort, work, and enthusiasm contributed by its members for over four years. Maintaining and expanding a facility of these characteristics is no easy task when the only funding comes from self-financing. Teamwork and their passion for skateboarding are the magic recipe that makes this facility one of the benchmark skateparks in southern Galicia.
If you want to try it out, become a member, or simply get information about what's happening there, you can visit their new Mondakadiy blog or join their Facebook group, Mondaka D.I.Y. Sk8park. Both platforms are active daily with videos and photos of sessions and skatepark progress.
The monthly membership fee is €35, and if you only want to have a session, you'll need to contact one of the members to arrange a time and pay €5. They are also open to external donations, provided they are not from far-right political parties.
Below are some images of the expansion process and its enjoyment.
