Last weekend, together with Iron Mountain Surfboards, we were present at the second edition of Motorbeach 2014. This edition was held at Playa La Espasa, about 40km from Gijón.
The festival was divided into a surf section where we could find Neyra custom shapes, Chusma, Chipiron, Grandppa and Banger surfboards, among others. There were also live shaping sessions by Chusma, Chipiron, Neyra and Monster surfboards. Although the swell didn't treat us kindly this time (as always happens in every surf competition), the judges organized a great paddle + beer competition, the BEER NO WAVES, which involved paddling as fast as possible while drinking penalty beers. The Frenchman Robin Falxa "took the cake," which was fitting as he belongs to the "Gato Bask" longboard team. He was the first qualifier in both paddling and beer, and in maneuvers the next day in the official championship.
In the motorcycle section, Russell Mecanica, CRO, Yamaha Yard, and many others were present. On Saturday, a route to Lake Covadonga was organized, where the weather wasn't too cooperative either.
Overall, a very fun weekend with good people and not much surf.
