Motorbeach 2016

Motorbeach 2016, an edition that doubled the attendance of the previous edition. A complete, well-organized chaos on the quiet meadows of La Espasa beach, on the "border line" of the municipalities of Caravia and Colunga, a no man's land. For four days, the tranquility of the place was broken by open exhausts, two-stroke engines, burnt oil, misfires, etc. All this combined with the powerful performances of bands like Barracudas, Goodfathers, and Dr. Feelgood, among others. The highlight of Motorbeach 2016 was undoubtedly the GYPSY WALL OF DEATH, the best five euros spent in years. It was the classic "Wall of Death," a wooden cylinder with motorcycles defying the laws of physics and gravity, but in this case, a Gypsy version, with the added challenge of the band itself playing inside the cylinder, blasting Motorhead songs. A show in the purest Mad Max style, where for moments you doubted that once you entered the fenced area, everyone would be vampires and it would turn into a blood orgy like in the strip club from "From Dusk Till Dawn." Another key figure of Motorbeach 2016 was who we assumed was the public relations manager for the GYPSY WALL OF DEATH, a swarthy, gipsy-like character with blonder hair than Gunilla Von Bismarck, whom we ventured to say had some genetic traits of Moinante de Carballo. Nicknamed and introduced by his showmates as "Obelix," a name that suited him perfectly, but in this case, I think his cauldron contained LSD. He was not known to rest from the beginning of the festival until its end, as we saw him with our own eyes operating a crane over 15 meters high, dismantling the Wall of Death platform. From Motorbeach, Carlos Lameiro and company set off for Greece with their project, ON MOTORCYCLE FOR THE REFUGEE (We will discuss this in more detail in another post). The goal is to raise money to take it directly to a refugee camp in Greece, a small contribution but a grand gesture. Good luck, Lameiro!!!!!!!!
