Nico Peña, captain of "Lobos de mar division", tells us a little more about himself in the following interview, transcribed from a squared notebook and with doctor's handwriting.
Since when have you been called Nico Peña and when and where was this person born? For 24 years this August 11th, I was almost born in an elevator at the Acorachan clinic in 1991 in Barcelona.Your main area of action is Vigo, but you have spent some time in the city of Hercules. What did you go there to do?I went to get to know the city, to familiarize myself with the environment and to confirm that I am still lucky when it comes to changing habitats... I also had the good fortune to be able to observe and participate in some training sessions at "La vieja Escuela" and at the same time meet Pedrín from Tapia and Diego de Coristanco, who are great in the field of surfing. So I was in very good company and happy. I take this opportunity to send them a big hug and wish them both a good summer. You've made the area shine a lot with your photographer colleague Matías, which areas have you moved around in? If you can tell us...He's truly amazing!!!!! I already knew him by sight; we grew up in nearby neighborhoods. The truth is that he has been a real discovery for me and for every surfer from Coruña who has experienced this period of photographic bonanza. And the spots... the Arteixo area at this time of spring offers a lot of possibilities, and if I'm honest, I didn't go to Ferrol to monoside any day... GREAT MATÍAS!!!What are your next short-term horizons???To repeat an experience at "Atlantic Surf", working, smiling and making people smile with Nico Kalli, from now until the end of September. Surfing is also included in the package, and submitting to the "Canarian seat".Does it take you a long time to comb your hair?I don't comb it! I'm in cap mode, saving my field of vision. Little by little I'll adapt without stress or psychedelic buns.Which do you prefer, rumba, samba, or lambada?Rumba I felt, I feel, and I will feel. Samba was the name of my dog when my parents' marriage was still active. Lambada, no idea, but Nico Kalli tells me it's a dance style; I'll have to believe him.I hate love and war, both are eternal projects, but with time one learns, "a difficult world with an uncertain future".
Thanks to my family for their unconditional support, to the "Nastylaybacks" for their style and marked moves, to Atlantic Surf for the opportunity to repeat, and last but not least; thanks to my trusted dentist for helping me get my smile back. A hug and a kiss to everyone!!!
