O Marisquiño XV took place this past weekend on August 7th, 8th, and 9th in the city of Vigo. Naturally, once again, we could not miss this significant event, both for the skateboarding scene and for our city. Another year, the different disciplines that make up the event packed the Naútico area of Vigo, despite the sweltering heat during those days. This year, Dagan Off Road created a new discipline brought from the U.S.A., the "Face to Face," which is a one-on-one duel across a short circuit no longer than 150m, with its respective double jumps and mounds. The World Cup Skateboarding was one of the main pillars of O Marisquiño XV, with riders from all over the world competing fiercely. Dave Duncan and Jairo Jailrock entertained the event with their sweet voices. Our national rider Danny León was given a very hard time by those from the neighboring country (France), with a technique more worthy of a video game than real life. Aurelien Giraud took first place and his fellow countryman Adrien Bulard second, with Danny León achieving third place and the Best Trick award. During the event, a minute of silence was held throughout the entire venue in memory of the recently deceased Dani Rivas. In general, another year where O Marisquiño did not go unnoticed by any local from Vigo; we congratulate the organization from here and thank them for their support.
