We are pleased to introduce Paco Castagna, a new member of La banda del Machete. With roots in Arzignano and a life split between Italy and Scotland, 30-year-old Paco Castagna is an unstoppable force in the exciting world of speedway. His passion for motorcycles began at an early age, doing slow laps in his backyard at the tender age of 4 or 5. However, it wasn't until he was 15 that he dove into the dizzying world of speedway, a decision that would change his life forever.
Paco didn't let his "late" start deter him. In a sport where many begin competing at 5 or 6 years old, he proved that true passion has no time limits. In 2015, he celebrated his first victory in individual senior races, marking the beginning of a series of outstanding triumphs.
Among his impressive achievements are his three titles as Italian Champion (2017, 2018, 2022) and four times Italian Under-21 Champion (2011, 2012, 2014, 2015). His skill on the track extends beyond borders, with a title as International Argentine Champion in 2022 and Slovenian Champion in 2021.
A prominent member of the Italian national team and European Pairs finalist, Paco has not only made his mark in national competitions but has also shined on the international scene. From reaching world qualifying rounds to making the playoffs with the Edinburgh Monarchs in 2022 and 2023, his career is a testament to dedication and success.
