PELUCAS

We are pleased to introduce you to Pelucas, an urban artist, not much of a gallery owner, and a great friend. You can see part of his great work on many of the walls in the city of Vigo.

He and his twin brother Tiñas (Liken jakala), have lived a childhood marked by skateboard culture, but always from their unique perspective.

Pelucas is a transgressor, a recycler, and a heavy drinker. Lysergic is how I would best describe him personally, as much of his work leaves "the doors of perception" wide open and airing out.

After several trips around the world, he has decided to settle in Mexico.

Pelucas in Mexico, sounds like a Paco Martínez Soria movie title, but nothing could be further from the truth. It is there that he is gaining the most recognition with his murals, the discipline in which he excels.

The culture of murals in Mexico dates back to pre-Hispanic civilizations, although it experienced greater development and consolidated as a discipline at the beginning of 1920, with the purpose of conveying social or political messages in addition to an ornamental character.

This tradition continues to this day, and our friend Pelucas is contributing significantly.

We also highlight the collaboration he has made with us by illustrating a surfboard (shortboard), a great work that we will show you later.

Here are some images of his latest mural works and some other pieces.

We send him a big hug from here!
