GRAY JUNGLE

SELVA GRIS

A Machete photoshoot among strange places, handmade ramps, empty car parks and corners that weren't meant to look good in a photo, but that's exactly why they work.

Colourful balaclavas, black hoodies, a skateboard, a motorbike and a lot of concrete. All with that half-abandoned, half-improvised feel that appears when things are done from within and not from a prepared set.

The idea was simple: to move through do-it-yourself spaces, places with texture, cracks, humidity, history. Places where skateboarding isn't a guest, but a way of interpreting the space differently.

We weren't looking for a clean, perfect image. We were looking for something rawer, more real, more ours. A mix of street, garage, wood, noise and that strange aesthetic that appears when you put a board, a motorbike and an empty wall together.

These photos are a bit about that: turning any place into a stage, skating where you can and where you can't, covering your face to be a character, and continuing to build Machete's imagery from places that have more soul than shine.

A small grey jungle.
