The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride Vigo took place last Sunday, September 27th, as the first edition of this global event in our city. The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, for those who aren't aware, is a non-profit charity event that brings together classic motorcycle enthusiasts, dressed in their best attire, to raise funds for prostate cancer and raise awareness for men's health issues. The event took place in over 81 countries around the world, and in different cities within each country. The 36,842 riders registered on the official Distinguished Gentleman's Ride website managed to raise well over 2 million dollars, which shows a significant level of public involvement. Both on the official Distinguished Gentleman's Ride website and on their social media channels, you can see images and videos from all the cities or regions that participated. The Vigo route, with 57 registered riders, began at the Museum of the Sea in Alcabre and continued to the Paseo de Alfonso, passing through Monte del Castro and La Guía, ending at the Plaza de Compostela. Thanks to the riders and sponsors who committed to the cause, Vigo achieved fourth place in fundraising in Spain, after Madrid, Barcelona, and Jerez.
